The next installment in this darkly, enigmatic shape-shifting series, this book picks up six months after Loyalties ended. Everything seems rosy, with Angelina and Cole set to marry alongside Regina and Harry. Events take a dramatic and sinister turn when two of the pack are kidnapped, and Diego and the team have to work out by whom and for what reason. An altogether darker book that the first, Uncivil Wars both unravels the secrets of the past, and potentially blows apart the futures of all involved. A juicy read for anyone who enjoys well-plotted, character driven fantasies. (click here to read full review)

It’s none stop action, suspense and AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH the entire book and I can’t wait to get started on book 3…I truly loved this book and was surprised when I hit 100% on my kindle. I felt a little lost and confused. I’m giving myself the week to process the book fully before jumping into book 3. I can only handle feeling like an emotional wreck in small doses.
If you aren’t reading this series I highly recommend you make it apart of your TBR list and get started sooner rather than later.

…After reading the previous book in this series, I had high hopes and no doubts that this one would be a good one, and I was NOT disappointed! It was high paced, the previous characters got better than they did in the first book (even though I didn’t think it was possible), and the new characters that were introduced were characters I really loved. In fact, 2 of them may be quickly becoming two of my favorites, just because of their quick wit, and the humor they bring to the table – especially in the tense moments where a little humor can certainly be used!
This book not only kept bringing us forward in the story, but it also brought us back in time, giving us further insight into the characters we know and love. It was exceptionally well done, as it didn’t detract from the story of the current event they were neck deep in – it added to the story, and created more of a story. Without it, the current events would have been much less exciting…

As the synopsis states, this starts about six months after Loyalties finishes. Life has sort of settled down for the Pack but that is all about to change. The catalyst for this is Cole as he decides he doesn’t want to be without his wife any longer. He sets a ball rolling that will take you on a wild and emotion-packed story. The Pack continues to grow, with new characters like Selene, Jake and Collette, who have their own story to tell. We learn more about Diego and Olivia, their individual and joint pasts, decisions they have made and consequences that still need to be faced.
Although this book is long – in fact, they all are – you will still be left wanting more. You won’t realise just how long you’ve been reading, every interruption will be met with gritted teeth, and every opportunity to read will be grasped.
The book leads up to a big climax that does, however, have a cliffhanger ending. Now before you think that this is a normal battle, just remember how the books are written. It is intense, real, gritty and dirty. It is exactly how you would imagine to be! It will make your heart pound faster, as your breath catches in your throat. Trust me, by the time it actually finishes, you will be glad for a rest, if only to get your pulse back to normal.
Absolutely fantastic, thrilling and emotional, I really can’t recommend this highly enough.
I read through the night and until my eyelids were glued shut…

In every epic tale, a main character must die. Aslan, Gandalf, Obi Wan Kenobi … you know it is coming, and yet at the moment of death there is still a sharp intake of breath. The Bonds of Blood & Spirit tale is no different. I sensed in Book 2 Uncivil Wars that a certain character was going to die, and sure enough in Reclamations, this character does. Except instead of a single sharp intake of breath, authors Wendi Kelly and Deb Dorchak managed to stretch out my emotions. For an entire chapter, I literally sat there with a hand pressed over my heart while tears streamed down my face. Then just as I recovered, they opened the wound again in another chapter as the death was retold. More tears and more aching heart. Again I recovered, swept along in the story until the very last sentence of the book in which I gasped once more and said out loud “Oh no they didn’t!” Oh yes they did. Wendi Kelly and Deborah Dorchak, Book 4 better be pretty quick in coming. Just sayin’!

This book will keep you on your toes, make you think you know what is going to happen, and then twist it a totally different way! Once you start to think you know where this story is leading, it turns you around so fast you are not sure about anything anymore!
One thing is for certain, you will not want to put this book down, and you will not be able to wait long to read the next book in the series.

“In the second BOBS book, the ragtag pack of assorted shifters grows. The wolves and cats branch out to include birds, hyenas and even some humans. The trouble that started in Loyalties seems to grow exponentially with each passing page. It turns out vampires are not the scariest thing out there by a wide margin, and our family of intrepid animals are in far deeper trouble than anyone thought.
The second BOBS book fills in a lot of the backstory for the older shifters, who came together for the first time in America’s Civil War, and have been living out a love rectangle ever since. Think of Fleetwood Mac with fangs and claws. Meanwhile, the puppies and kitties are coming to grips with their new powers, just in time to deal with the Talutha, a band of shifters who have turned their back on humanity and embraced not just the animals, but the monsters within them.
There are many new characters, as well as plenty of the old enemies from book one. It’s a good, fun read that goes places I never expected. If you love tales of vampires and werewolves, then I highly recommend this book and the first novel, Loyalties.”

“What an OUTSTANDING sequel to Loyalties!!
I have always been a lover of the “first books”. Those books are where the characters are introduced and you get to know them and see how they come together. First impressions are the ones that stick with you the most, it captures your heart and you fall in love with the story. So it’s hard for me to find sequels that live up to that.
But I’m happy to say that Deb and Wendi have outdone themselves with Uncivil War. Not only were there a variety of new characters to learn about and many other places to visit, but the creativity of the story is brilliant. The story fits together perfectly and there are many surprises along the way that will have your jaw-dropping as mine did.
My favorite part was learning more about Diego. While my heart has always been with Harry, Diego has me even more intrigued in this book. I can’t wait to learn even more about the big man. Great job Wendi and Deb. Keep the story coming and I can’t wait for the next book “Reclamations”.”

“Uncivil Wars was a great continuation of Loyalties. We learn a lot more about Diego and his past, his loves and losses. A few more characters are introduced, and the story unfolds as we go through a wedding, kidnapping, rescue, and new life… It’s amazing how emotionally attached one can get to some of these characters! I can’t wait for the 3rd book”

“Characters you’ve come to love in book one are joined by a huge cast in the 2nd edition of this fantasy series. The connections between players are clever, well-thought out, and mysterious in some cases. The shifter world develops more depth and history, and each chapter made me want to keep reading!”
